Every year we like to head to art Basel in Miami Beach. If you enjoy art- Art Basel Miami Beach is essentially a five day event that consumes Miami with art of EVERY kind. Art fairs, street art, performance art, sculpture, painting, mixed media- you name it Basel has it- and then some- a hundred times over again…
Of course being in Miami turns it into a real party. 🙂
Check out this photo from 2012 where we had an impromptu dinner with pop surliest painter Ron English at Wynwood Walls restaurant Wynwood Kitchen. The gourmet cocktail menu includes signature cocktails named after Miami’s favorite artist which include on the menu “Ron English”.
So of course I had to have a Ron English cocktail with Ron English and below is the recipe so that you can make it yourself.
1 ounce Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum
1 ounce cachaça
1 1/2 ounces coconut Rum
3/4 ounce pineapple juice
3/4 ounce orange juice
1 ounce guanabana nectar
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a tall glass with fresh ice. Mint sprig garnish. (Recipe curtesy of Alex Toth of Wynwood Kitchen & Bar)
Here is a still of when Ron English appeared on the episode of the Simpsons called “Exit through the Kwik-E Mart“.
